Graceful Sheep

In ancient Chinese culture,
the character “Sheep” (羊) was often associated with “yang” (阳),
the principle of light and growth.

This connection is reflected in the traditional New Year
phrase “Three Sheep Bring Renewal,”
a seasonal blessing used at the beginning of the year.

It expresses the idea of winter passing into spring,
where darkness fades and light gradually returns,
bringing balance, growth, and renewal to all things.

Unlike symbols of strength or movement,
the Sheep represents a quieter sense of harmony—
an image of nature returning to ease after transition.
