Overview
Lucky Sheep (美吉羊) is the 2027 edition of the Jidanwawa Zodiac Collection.
Inspired by Chinese New Year traditions and the blessing San Yang Kai Tai (三陽開泰), its original pattern is screen-printed on cotton-linen fabric, then each piece is cut, sewn, filled, and finished by hand.
Each zodiac figure is made in small batches. Slight variations in printing, stitching, and shape are a natural part of the handmade process.
Story
The sheep has long carried auspicious meanings in Chinese culture.
For Lucky Sheep, the design draws from the traditional expression San Yang Kai Tai (三陽開泰), a blessing associated with the return of light, warmth, and good fortune after winter.
This idea became the starting point for the 2027 zodiac figure, from the original printed pattern to the small sun motif on its forehead.
The full story behind Lucky Sheep will continue to unfold in the Jidanwawa Journal as the New Year approaches.
